Asaalam all,
How better a way to spend one's Saturday than to go out eating, therefore, we headed out for a meal at "Oodles N'oodles", followed be a dessert at "Shere Khan" and some Pink Tea at one of my favourite small restaurants...
I guarantee you that it's hard to get a good cup of pink tea from anywhere but "The Alum Rock Kebab House".

Starers and Main.

My initial craving to go to "Tipu Sultan" having been rejected as an idea meant I wasn't exactly keen on visiting "Oodles N'oodles" with the girls, however, I can guarantee my initial thoughts were changed, seeing as the food is simply scrumptious.

For our appetisers, we decided to order several dishes which we would share. As a recommendation, if you were to go to "Oodles N'oodles" definitely ask for the fishcakes for starters, I'm actually not a big fan of fishcakes, but these are simply delicious. The texture is much more different, and it doesn't taste bland at all.
To go along with the vegetable spring rolls and fish-cakes, we decided to get some meat, however, I cannot admit to enjoying the Grilled Chicken Tikka  as much as the other options due to the fact that the meat felt quite dry and not as spicy as I would have expected it to be- it was slightly tasteless.

Knowing we would not finish off a full plate of noodles each, we ordered two plates of noodles which we would share, and chose our own sauces. I opted for the "Fish Manchurian" and it tasted deliceux, especially along with fries, but with noodles- the flavour became a little to much to take...

Along with the mains, me and my sister shared a minty (non-alcoholic) unique drink. It had a zingy taste, but was still extremely sugary. We were mocked by being told we're drinking "Kha tha drink" or "A drink made of grass". :(

Admire the refreshing "Minty Cooler" from a unique angle.

Dessert:

Desserts are always my favourite part of the meal seeing as I have a very large sweet tooth, and I can definately say I was pleased with this one- however, I prefer "Tipu Sultan" in regards to dessert. So I opted for the "Three Layer Chocolate Cake". I might have gone for Cheese Cake, but we've been finishing off an amazing White Chocolate Cheese Cake which my sister made- so, despite the fact I simply adore cheese-cake. Along with this, I decided to try out the Cappuccino Ice-cream, seeing as I'm quite a coffee flavoured food times supporter (yet I simply deteste coffee).

I did enjoy my dessert, however, not as much as some other desserts I've tried. It's a shame Dad wasn't with us though- "Gajar-Ka-Halwa" and "Gulab-Jamun" were on the menu, some of his favourites from "Tipu Sultan" (and as I mentioned earlier, which "Shere Khan" own).

Tea:

In my family, tea holds quite a large importance, perhaps it has been socially inherited, or just through blood, seeing as we have tea quite a lot through-out the day. You can see why it would be of great joy to us to discover a new kind of tea which we have lived ever since we first tried it (it was love at first sip)! Our favourite place to have this kind of tea is "Alum Rock Kebab House" Although small, business is always blooming Masha-Allah, and their pink tea cannot be compared to any other we have tasted. In fact, due to the experience, we actually spent days attempting to perfect our own pink tea recipe to the standards of the new tea we had tried.

My pink tea sitting in a very attractive cup.

As much as I've said it was a shame that Dad was unable to join us- all us girls had tonnes of fun (we even made an extra visit to "McDonald's" just because we were thirsty).
The trip was so fun- I can't even choose my favourite part!

Asaalam,
Daughter
